Bio

Professor Gervais spent most of his professional career in the computer industry, managing operations in Europe and the U.S. With degrees in both engineering and business, he has extensive experience in engineering, program management, strategic planning, customer services, sales and marketing. Before joining the Simmons faculty, Gervais's last position was Vice President of Marketing for the French Group Bull in Boston, with responsibility for more than $1 billion in North American and Pacific computer product sales.

These professional and academic responsibilities lead him to travel extensively, dealing with foreign partners, customers, and suppliers. He consulted for high-tech start-up companies in Russia and Central Asia. He also participated in business seminars in Brazil, Mexico, Japan, Korea, and India. He recently taught management in China, India and France to better understand the changes that are occurring around the world and to incorporate them in his courses.

Gervais is also the President of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Boston.
