Internships
Women’s Internship Network (WIN)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Simmons School of Management (SOM), the leading business school in the U.S. designed specifically for women, will offer a number of MBA internship opportunities to select organizations committed to advancing women from diverse backgrounds into leadership roles. Beginning in Fall 2008, the SOM will provide the opportunity for these organizations to showcase their commitment to advancing women, and in addition, will provide a pipeline of talented female MBA candidates on an ongoing basis.
SOM students make up a diverse population with over 20% women of color. Students have an average of six to eight years of broad industry experience, and many are attracted to the SOM’s mission to educate women for power and principled leadership.
PROGRAM GOAL
The WIN Program provides women who aspire to leadership positions with additional training and educational experiences to assist them in achieving their career goals. At the same time it provides organizations with a pipeline of talent and a forum for sharing their commitment to developing women leaders.
WIN sponsors will offer a paid summer internship position to an MBA candidate. Sponsors are asked to provide a challenging and substantive experience to the candidates, and will be required to provide a description of the project during the application process.
