Sandra Pomerantz is a graduate of the Simmons MBA and Certificate Program in Entrepreneurship. She is now self-employed as an independent consultant with clients including Partners HealthCare, one of the largest health care industry providers in Massachusetts. Sandra likes the independence and flexibility of being a consultant while working for a large client in a market defined by rapid changes and new opportunities.

Through her coursework, Jennifer was inspired to explore entrepreneurship and the process of developing her own business. This was not somewhere she thought an MBA program would lead her but the entrepreneurship program transformed her career direction and has been a valuable capstone to her MBA degree. Jennifer was born and raised in Kenya, East Africa and dreams of returning to her country to run a business that fosters economic development through ecotourism.

Catherine "Laney" Whitcanack

Simmons MBA '06 and Certificate Program '07

A social entrepreneur, Laney Whitcanack co-founded The Princess Project, a volunteer-powered non-profit organization that works with thousands of women and girls every year. In starting this venture, she gained first-hand experience about the scarcity of good (and cheap) technology to support grassroots community groups. Laney is a former Program Director, Facilitator and Fellow for the Coro Center for Civic Leadership where she spent several years coaching and training leaders from businesses, government agencies and community-based organizations across California.
