SOM Professor Returns from Teaching Workshop in Ethiopia

Deborah Kolb, the Deloitte Ellen Gabriel Professor for Women & Leadership at the SOM, recently returned from Ethiopia, where she led an executive education class titled "Enhancing Leadership: Negotiation Skills for Women" March 4-6, 2008. Kolb helped participants develop practical skills for managing negotiations in ways that promoted their interests and those of their organization. This event was hosted by Ethiopia's International Livestock Research Institute, a division of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) — a strategic partnership of countries, international and regional organizations, and private foundations working to foster sustainable agricultural growth. Over the years, Kolb has instructed several workshops on women and negotiation for CGIAR, which take place once every two years in a different country.
