SOM faculty member Lynda Moore speaks at first Arab International Women’s Forum hosted in U.S.

On June 22-24, 2008, SOM faculty member Lynda Moore spoke at the first Arab International Women’s Forum held in the U.S.  The conference, entitled 'Partners for Change: Realizing the Potential of Arab Women in the Private and Public Sector’ was co-sponsored by World Bank and included talks given by prominent world figures such as Robert Zoellick, President of the World Bank; Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani, Chairman, Arab International Women’s Forum, HE Hala Bsesio Latouf, Minister of Social Development, Jordan; HE Bahia Hariri, Member of Parliament, Lebanon, and many more.

The two day event took place in Washington D.C. and stressed the importance of education as the most effective means to overcoming socio-economic challenges and barriers. It encouraged dialogues on the Arab women’s role in making the Millennium Development Goals a reality.
